» HOW TO RECEIVE FROM GOD (PART 1)

UNDERSTAND THE NATURE OF GOD
Many today are having problems with receiving from God. Their belief in God has been seriously affected by their experiences of prayers going unanswered. Does God still answer prayers? The answer is ‘YES, HE DOES!’ How can we receive from this invisible God?

The first thing we need to be established in, is our understanding of God’s nature. He is not unwilling to give us what we need to meet our material and temporal needs. He is also interested and committed to our spiritual needs too!

God governs His Kingdom with principles. His ways can be seen in the Bible. All His operations are based on principles and we can see His patterns in the Bible.

Let us understand His nature:- HE IS UNCHANGING IN HIS NATURE

James 1 :17 - Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

John 3 :27 - John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.

Numbers 23:19 - God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

Malachi 3:6 - For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

HE IS BENEVOLENT!

Psalm 34: 9-10 - O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him. The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.

Psalm 84:11 - For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

UNDERSTAND YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD AND YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Through believing in Jesus Christ and His work at Calvary, we have come into a relationship with God. We can call Him Our Father. John1:12- We have received Jesus Christ as our Saviour, we have the right to become children of God. To become a child of God is not automatic, it is to be received by faith. We must get rid of unbelief, dis-belief and rebellion to accept what has been given to us.

Our relationship with God is based on the finished work of Calvary! Not on our efforts! Our part is to believe and receive. It is our fellowship that is based on our decisions, choices and efforts! Our relationship, when we believe, has been sealed by the blood and the Spirit of God acts as a down payment for the full purchase of our redemption.

Ephesians 1: 11-14
11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, 14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

The potentials that are available to us because of our relationship with the Father, through Jesus Christ, have put us in a totally different standing with God. We have access to things that were impossible before now. We can do all things through Him who infuses inner strength in us.

Philippians 4: 13 - I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Ephesians 2: 8 - For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

By grace through faith!!!

Romans 8:16-17
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

2 Corinthians 5: 14-21
14 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:
15 And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
