Fountain of Wisdom Ministries: Participating in Gods Purpose for the Nations - HEALING IN THE MINISTRY OF JESUS (PART 1)
HEALING IN THE MINISTRY OF JESUS (PART 1)
Author Rev. Kola Ewuosho on 28th July, 2008. 22:13

In Mark 7:27, Jesus said to Greek lady, "Let the children be filled first, for it is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to little dogs". A gentile woman uses her faith to draw on God's power to receive healing for her child. The bread in this case was healing since she came asking for healing for her daughter. It is interesting to note that Jesus was mindful that healing was ministered in the right places to the children of Abraham, the covenant man of God.

Even the children of the covenant also had to draw on what is theirs by faith. Note that faith takes what is yours.

The woman with the issue of blood had the situation for many years and her resources were wasted in her efforts to receive help from the natural. There is always a price for anything. For her to get healed she needed her faith coupled with action. She heard about Jesus. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. She heard like every other person that Jesus heals, delivers and saves. This was mixed with faith in her. Maybe for others it was not mixed with faith but this lady laid hold of the Word. Faith has to do with a heart believing, a mouth speaking and a body responding in action. There are obstacles to overcome. "What if it does not happen to me?" "What if I die?"

She faced formidable odds too. She was not expected to be seen amongst people in her state. The shame would have been unbearable in the time she lived. She had to overcome those odds. She said and she did. That is taking after the heart has connected. When faith lays hold of something, it sees the end result. Faith sees, says and does. Faith can be visible on the one that has it. Jesus called her daughter and said "Your faith has made you whole. Go in peace and be healed of your affliction." Mark 5:34

For Jairus' daughter, the approach was different. Jairus was told that it was too late to do anything as the girl had died while Jesus was on the way to his house. "Do not be afraid; only believe," Jesus advises against fear as this can destroy what had been set into motion with faith. Keep the switch of faith turned on all the time.

Bartimeus was blind and his faith got him healed in Mark 10:46-52. He moved with the conviction of his faith in Jesus and was not disappointed. You won't be either if you only believe, trust and obey.

How do I know if I believe in my heart?

Answer: When there is a rest deep within my heart, even with contrary evidences around me. I do not deny the evidences but my rest and confidence can still rest even if shaken from time to time. When I believe independent of my senses.

How can I be sure God will heal me this time?

Answer: The provision of healing is not being withdrawn by the Lord. Jesus died to bring God's goodness into our lives. It is our responsibility to receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior, become a child of God and have healing as our bread according to the scriptures. We have a part to play as God in His mercy plays His part. Your faith will make you well.

"If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes." Mark 9:23
