Fountain of Wisdom Ministries: Participating in Gods Purpose for the Nations - REMEMBERING THE COVENANT
REMEMBERING THE COVENANT
Author Rev. Kola Ewuosho on 29th July, 2008. 03:26

Greetings in the name of the Lord. This week's message was inspired by one of the devotional thoughts from Kenneth and Gloria Copeland's book "from faith to faith".

It goes "If you are going to live in divine health, there are going to be times when you will have to be downright extreme about the Word of God. Times when you may be facing a sickness so severe that you need more than just a few moments in the Word and a quick prayer to receive your healing." He went on to explain what he will do in such a situation. These thoughts brought to my mind the understandings I have had on the Holy Communion. I have given several teachings on the subject of breaking bread. (You may request the tapes from the Fountain of Wisdom Online Store or any of our Ministry Offices nearest to you).

Psalm 103 is the prophetic revelation of the Holy Communion. The psalmist says "forget not.. His benefits" and Jesus says "do this in remembrance of me..." To remember in English language is to forget not. The mind is involved is its ability to focus on a series of thoughts at a time. 1Cor.11:23-34. Paul gives a revelation of the insights he has on this all-important subject. Jesus says "remember me.... Paul says "examine yourself....and goes on to say it results in weakness and so forth if not done rightly and psalmist says remember His benefits... The law of remembrance is this "whatever you can call to your mind can be re-experienced". Recall can lead to re-live. It always does if not checked. That is how powerful the mind is in your everyday experience. We know the mind is the battle field in which Satan throws his fears and casts the imagination of terror or dread generates thoughts of insecurity that lead people to all kinds of utterances and eventual experiences.

These same people turn around and blame God for such occurrences or experiences as if He orchestrated them. The communion is a time of remembering the goodness of the Lord as typified in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The seriousness of the situation demands the frequency of the taking of communion. You don't need to wait for the third Sunday to take it in church. You take it as often as needed or necessary like three times a day in the midst of prayers and worship and it becomes a point of contact for the release of your faith in the covenant. Now you need to be specific, If you need healing you remember Jesus as the healer. If you need strength You remember Him as your strengthener through His Spirit that lives in you if you are born again. You do these by calling to remembrance the scriptures that are relevant to your needs. The more attack you face in that area the more the frequency you need.

Jesus lived successfully on this earth, by remembering Him in that regard you receive strength to live successfully too. Do it with thanksgiving.

Also from Paul's writing we know that to remember also means to Re-member, We get disjointed when there is strife and all other works of the flesh as we take communion we should forgive and release others and ourselves from offences. Re-member His body that has been Dismembered through the works of the flesh. I pray you walk in health, protection, provision and you experience promotion in every area of life, Amen.
